The Internal Province of Ghana/Anglican communion on Friday, October 29, paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
The visit according to the Church was to engage His Royal Majesty on a business discussion and to pledge the Church's commitment to enter into various business ventures so as to create employment for the youth and revenue for the church.
In introductory remarks, the Archbishop of Ghana, Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith thanked the Asantehene for his numerous support and counseling for the church.
He recounted the Otumfuo's support during His enthronement and the establishment of the Anglican National Secretariat in Accra.
The Executive Director to the Archbishop, Venerable Dr. George Dawson-Ahmoah took the Asantehene through the strategic plan of the church which included venturing into business activities such as insurance, real estate development, large-scale production of drinking water/soft drinks, manufacturing, Agricultural activities.
Other thematic areas including; human Resource Development, Evangelism, Education and Health, Chaplaincy and Mission Abroad were also highlighted for enhancement
In his response, the Asantehene commended the leadership of the church for being proactive to the consequences of Covid-19 and pledged his support to the new development of the church describing every move as "laudable ideas".
The Archbishop led the delegation to the Manhyia and was ably supported by the Rt Rev Abraham Ackah, the Rt Rev Dr Festus Yeboah Assuamah, Rt Rev Alexander Kobina Asmah, the Rt Rev Dennis Tong.
The others are Rt Rev Christian Osar Amoah, The Rt Rev Kwame Ekyem Ampomah, the Venerable Dr David Korankye and the Venerable Dr George Dawson-Ahmoah.
