Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew came off the bench and struck late for champions Olympique Marseille to a steal 0-1 win at Toulouse in the Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Ayew powered home a late header in the 87th minute by connecting Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross after coming on as substitute on the hour mark.
Nigeria international Taye Taiwo had failed to convert a spot-kick 10 minutes into the second half.
It was Marseille’s sixth win of the season and are fourth, two points behind the league leaders Montpellier but still have a game in hand to play against Rennes, on 1 December at the Vélodrome.
Marseille needed the points from the game to keep their title hunt on track after picking only one point from their last two games.
