Andre Ayew continued his impressive form, scoring his second Ligue 1 goal of the season, but it wasn't enough to secure a win for Le Havre as they lost 2-1 to RC Lens at home.
Ayew, who scored against his former club Marseille last week, made an immediate impact, capitalizing on a rebound from Hervé Koffi's save in the ninth minute. He calmly slotted the ball home from close range, giving Le Havre an early lead.
Despite Ayew's goal, Le Havre failed to capitalize on their advantage. Yoann Salmier missed a golden opportunity to double the lead, and Lens debutant Goduine Koyalipou equalized before halftime.
Lens dominated the second half, applying pressure that eventually led to Deiver Machado's decisive strike in the 77th minute, securing a 2-1 win for the visitors.
The defeat marks Le Havre's sixth consecutive loss, leaving them in an unfavorable position, four points away from safety in their battle against relegation.
Despite the defeat, Ayew's back-to-back goals demonstrate his determination to inspire his struggling team, offering a glimmer of hope in their fight for survival.
