Amansie Rural Bank Plc is re-investing in the education of the human resource pool in its operational area with the re-introduction of a scholarship scheme for students.
The fund, suspended in 2017, is set to commence in 2025 to provide financial assistance to selected brilliant but needy students in rural communities under the bank’s jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the bank has commissioned a community center for Antoakrom - its originating town - to foster community engagement aimed at local development and well-being.
Emmanuel Bright Quaicoe reports the bank has increased its corporate social responsibility, spending close to 420,000 cedis.
In 2023, the Amansie Rural Bank increased its spending by 72% on its Corporate Social Responsibility activities over the 2022 figure.

A total amount of GH¢419,125.00 was spent in 2023 as compared to GH$243.225.60 in 2022.
A significant portion was allocated to Education, Community Pavilion and Security sectors to support natives of the bank’s catchment.
To solidify its commitment to fostering socioeconomic development in rural Ghana, the bank is re-introducing its scholarship scheme to provide financial aid to brilliant but needy students.
After its suspension over the last seven years, the scheme will kick-off in 2025 to support at least 10 students to the tertiary level in the next four years.
Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Frederick Kyei Kwakye, noted the time was right to bring back the scheme to aid brilliant but needy students.
“We needed to return something to the community, especially those within the Amansie catchment areas. We realized that we were lacking some professionals who pursue engineering. We bringing back the scholarship will help the brilliant but needy students,” he said.
At its 39th annual general meeting, the bank also commissioned a community center for the Antoakrom community in the Amansie West district.
The pavilion seeks to foster community engagement for socioeconomic development and well-being in the area.

Chief of Antoakrom, Nana Okyere Darko Ampem II expressed the community’s gratitude to the bank. He emphasized the pavilion will serve its rightful purpose in fostering community cohesion and development.
Meanwhile, the bank has since constructed three Police Tent Cities with the latest establishment located at Nkontene near Agroyesum in the Amansie South District.
This is to enhance the safety and security of indigenes as they go about their daily social and economic activities
