Musician Amaarae’s new album ‘Fountain Baby’ has been included in the American publication Rolling Stone’s best album of 2023 list.

The album, since its release, has been praised by renowned publications such as NPR, The New Yorker, Billboard, and Elle for her unique fusion of genres, blending experimental pop with mainstream Afrobeats, positioning her as one of the premier artists in the pop arena.

Rolling Stone also praised her for same writing, “Amaarae has been wild and thorough since her excellent 2020 breakthrough, The Angel You Don’t Know, featuring the luxurious and lusty “Sad Gurlz Love Money,” which quickly went viral and attracted a remix with the similarly decadent Kali Uchis.”

“On Fountain Baby, Amaarae doubles down on the thrill and amps up the danger, pulling influences from Afro rhythms, Asian standards, and punk-rock rage for a brooding adventure through her world.”

Following the release of the album, the singer/songwriter has been invited to perform songs off the album for the beloved NPR Tiny Desk series, with the performance scheduled for release later in June.

Meanwhile, building upon her massive success, Amaarae’s viral hit “Sad Girlz Luv Money” featuring Kali Uchis has recently achieved platinum certification.

The track has garnered over an astonishing 379 million global streams, reached notable chart positions on the Billboard Hot 100, and dominated TikTok as the #1 song for multiple weeks.

This extraordinary achievement highlights Amaarae’s undeniable impact on the music industry and solidifies her status as a trailblazer.
