The Ghana Police Service has raised concerns over the actions of demonstrators from the Democracy Hub, accusing them of deliberately causing disruptions to commuters and road users.

In a statement issued on September 21, the police urged the protesters to refrain from such behaviour, which they described as "uncivil, unpatriotic, and un-Ghanaian acts."

The police indicated that the actions of the demonstrators, which were captured in images and videos, were causing unnecessary hardships for the general public.

“The Ghana Police Service has monitored attempts by the Democracy Hub demonstrators to frustrate and put impediments in the way of commuters and other road users.

"We are urging the demonstrators to desist from such uncivil, unpatriotic, and un-Ghanaian acts depicted in the images and videos and allow the general public to go about their businesses without any hindrance," the statement read.

To maintain order, the police announced that additional officers had been deployed across the city to manage traffic and ensure security, law, and order.

The police encouraged the demonstrators to conduct their activities in a peaceful and lawful manner while ensuring that the rights of other citizens were respected.
