The public relations officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Albert Commey has indicated that, the club does not owe the 2000 CAF champions winning squad.
According to him, there are documents which prove that, the club settled the team after they won the championship.
“Nothing suggests that the club owes the players and all agreements signed were fulfilled”. He told JOY Sports
Meanwhile, Some of the players of that squad, Emmanuel Osei Kufuor, Eben Dida and Edmund Copson have been leading a campaign to recoup a 20,000 dollars promised each player if they won the African title.
The squad was made of the following:
Sammy Adjei, Yaw Amankwah Mireku, Jacob Nettey (Captain), Edward Agyeman-Duah, Stephen Tetteh, Lawrence Adjah-Tetteh, Charles Allotey, Joe Ansah, Ishmael Addo, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour*, Charles Asampong Taylor, Eben "Dida" Armah, James Nanor, Dan Quaye, Justice Ampah, Edmund Copson, James Zoglo, Emmanuel Donkor, Emmanuel Adjogu, Maouas Kwame Ali.
