The Ghana Palaver newspaper predicted on Friday that the coming days would be very devastating for some of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential aspirants as a result of deep seated hatred unless the elders of the party are able to kill the danger immediately.
The paper said its prediction is informed by the ongoing instigation by the Human rights Commission of Mr. Allan Kyerematen, Minister of Trade, Industry and PSI over allegations he could be involved in some impropriety in his administration, as well as his own admission that certain persons were behind a campaign destroy his image and chance at the flagbearership.
“From day one, when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) assumed office, Allan Kyeremanten was the man many in the party saw as the "golden boy" to succeed President Kufuor after he has finished his term of office but the heir apparent, has refused to sparkle to the disappointment of many party faithful.”
The paper said in what is seen as a massive dent to his Presidential ambitions, a man by name Kwesi Arthur who incidentally is a former Greater Accra Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party, has dragged him before the CHRAJ on issues that border on conflict of interest and financial impropriety.
“A source close to Minister Kyerematen said that the Minister and his team have a fair idea of where this latest orchestrated scheme is coming from and from all indications, Allan 'Cash' and his boys suspect the Kyebi boys.
“The source stated that the move is a continuation of an agenda which started against Richard Anane whose closeness to President Kufuor was seen as a major threat to some who think this is their time.
“Now that it has come out in the open, the Ashanti boys are also going to retaliate and this is where elders of the party must quickly come in to save the situation”.
