Retired Superintendent of Police, Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah, a royal of Akyem Pramkese in the Eastern Region Thursday confirmed to Myjoyonline.com the passing of the queen of Pramkese, Nana Asieduwaa Antwi Boasiako I.
The queen mother died alongside others in a motor accident whose circumstances the Police at Kade are investigating.
Nana Asieduwaa Antwi Boasiako I had gone missing for about 10 days, and members of the family had feared she might have been kidnapped following alleged threats to her life by a section of her own family before she was discovered to have died in the said accident. Her body was discovered at the Asamankese Hospital mortuary. Members of the family confirmed they have identified her body at the morgue.
It is unclear yet when and how the accident occurred, but family sources claimed she had followed up on a phone call by persons known to the family at Kade, and it was during the short journey that she went missing.
The police at Kade have cautioned against any unfounded conclusions and have assured investigations will get to the bottom of the ‘mystery’ death.
