The Greater Accra Cycling Association (GACA) would on Sunday, February 17, hold special cycling race dubbed “The Road to the Castle”.
The 15 lap race covering a distance of 115 kilometers is under the auspices of Nana Ado Danquah Akuffo Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with support from Mr Alan Kyeremanteng who lost to Nana Addo for the party’s presidential ticket.
Mr Charles Johnson, Development Coordinator (GACA) said the race would start at the Osu Mobil Station through La with a turn at Jokers Junction and back to the independence square for the finishing point.
According to Mr Johnson, teams from the Northern, Ashanti and Western, Greater Accra Regions and Tema would participate in the event.
He said top cyclists like Amin Mohammed from Tamale, Adnan Mohammed from Ashanti Region, other riders including William Afful, Philip Randolph, Aryitey Akoto, young sensation Anim Samuel and Lomo Tahiru are expected to provide fans with a great show on the day.
According to Mr Johnson, the cyclists would be addressed by Nana Addo, Mr Kyeremanteng and Dan Botwe.
