The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has chastised President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their poor governance.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has decimated Ghana’s democracy beyond recognition; destroying livelihoods and families.
Speaking during the NDC's manifesto launch on Saturday, August 24, the former president stated that the NPP's 2024 manifesto has been repackaged with enticing promises to deceive Ghanaians.
He stressed that Ghanaians dreamt of a better administration to restore the country, however, the citizens did not receive what they had hoped for.
“Most Ghanaians will agree that Nana Akufo-Addo is indeed the President Ghana never got. Indeed, I dare say, his much-touted economic whiz kid, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is also the economic messiah Ghana never got,” he said.
Mr Mahama added that the current NPP administration has been the "biggest political scam pulled on Ghanaians since our independence in 1957."
He stated that Ghanaians can no longer endure the hardship, impunity, state capture, and mismanagement inflicted by the NPP government.
He argued that it is time for the NPP administration to exit office, as they have decimated the country’s democracy beyond recognition.
“They have destroyed livelihoods and families and pushed millions of our people below the poverty line. Your vote on December 7 will end the tyranny, the cronyism, the corruption and the hardship and pave the way for the vision, experience and trustworthiness that I John Dramani Mahama is going to restore to the Flagstaff House,” he said.
Mr Mahama said that Ghana is in crisis and called on patriotic citizens to rise and reset the nation.
