Tamale Central MP Murtala Mohammed has described President Akufo-Addo as the most corrupt president in Ghana's history.
The former Deputy Information Minister's comments follow President Akufo-Addo's claim that his government has waged the most robust fights against corruption since the country attained independence.
According to the President, his government has taken some bold initiatives to fight the canker.

“I accept to speak here in order to take advantage to once again place my government’s record on corruption for public scrutiny.
“It will show that my government has taken arguably the boldest decision since Ghana attained independence nearly 66 years ago to reform and strengthen institutions to tackle corruption in the public sector.”
However, President Akufo-Addo added that it is not his job to convict or clear anyone accused of corruption.
“Charity, they say begins at home and that is why so far any allegations levelled against any of my appointees have been investigated by independent bodies such as CHRAJ, the CID and in some cases by parliament itself.
“It is not my job to clear or convict any person accused of wrongdoing or engaging in acts of corruption. That is the job of the courts and the law enforcement agencies.”

But reacting to this claim on JoyNews' AM Show on Thursday, Murtala said President Akufo-Addo does not respect the sensibilities of Ghanaians.
According to him, if he did, he would not have made such an utterance.
He insisted that the current government has been consumed by corruption and it cannot do anything about it.
"I am sorry but President Akufo-Addo’s comments on corruption at the Ghana Bar Conference were a joke. He has been the most corrupt leader ever in the history of this country.
"He hoodwinked Ghanaians to think that he was coming to fight corruption with his fake slang. In this country, if you speak English in a funny way, people take you seriously and the president took advantage of that."
