Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a Presidential aspirant of the NPP on Thursday donated 27 motorcycles to the Northern Regional Secretariat of the party for distribution to the 26 constituencies.
He also donated 200 bags of maize to be distributed to flood victims at Daboya in the West Gonja District and other victims in parts of the Tolon/Kumbungu and Zabzugu/Tatale Districts.
Mr. Clifford Braimah, Regional Secretary of the NPP who presented the items said Nana Akufo-Addo had observed that inadequate transport facilities and other logistics were hampering the efforts of the party's foot soldiers to undertake effective campaigning, hence the donation.
He commended Nana Akufo-Addo for the donation of the motorcycles through the party's structures and said they would enhance the mobility of the party's foot soldiers to campaign effectively towards the 2008 general election.
Mr. Braimah said although the donations could be intended to boost the presidential ambitions of the donor they would also help to strengthen the party structures.
He said the maize would be presented to Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, Northern Regional Minister, for distribution to the flood victims.
