President Nana Akufo-Addo has given the green light to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to distribute an amount of GH₵ 900,000 to Ghana Premier League clubs.
Each of the 18 clubs will receive an amount of GH₵ 50,000.
This initiative by government is to help ease the financial burden on clubs due to the economic impact of covid-19.
The financial woes of clubs have been compounded following a directive for games to be played behind closed doors.
Other sectors of the Ghana football community including the Division one, National women's league and reps in inter-club CAF competitions will also receive remuneration in due time according to government.
