President John Dramani Mahama has reassigned the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, to head the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The reassignment was announced in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Presidential Spokesperson and Minister for Government Communications.
Mr Ibrahim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency in the Bono Region, will take over from Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, who previously served as the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources.
Mr Ibrahim’s move forms part of changes to the President’s ministerial team as the government continues its agenda in key sectors, including housing development, water resources management and infrastructure delivery.
Before his reassignment, Mr Ibrahim served as the Minister responsible for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, where he oversaw matters relating to local governance structures, traditional leadership and religious affairs.
