Gold, silver, bronze - a clean sweep. Isn't it?
That's the story here at the University of Ghana stadium on Monday night as Ethiopia dominated the women's 5000m final on Day One of the track and field event.
Kumanda Medina swept past Bitukan Molla in the final 50m to claim gold at 15:04:32 leaving her countrymate to pick silver while Melkat Wudu settled for bronze despite a perfect start with her teammates.
They would run around the the track with their country flag as though they hadn't completed 15 minutes race moments earlier.
It was the icing on the cake for the Ethiopians as Samuel Ferewu had won the 3000m steeplechase at the expense of Kenya's Serem Amos and Kiprop Simon who led the race from start.
South Africa's Victor Hogan throw of 62.56m was enough to win him the men's discus throw.
Aside from the medal events, Team Ghana reached the final in three events, notably the 100m men's final courtesy Benjamin Azamati and Barnabas Aggerh, and women's 100m final after Mary Boakye finished third in the semi-final to book a ticket for a medal race on Tuesday night.
Hor Halutie and Benedicta Kwartemaa finished fourth and seventh in their semi-final races, missing out on the final.
Alex Amankwah secured a semi-final place after finishing second in the men's 800m in 1.47.12s and he will race in the semi-final on Tuesday night.
Kenya's Mary Moraa dominated the women's 400m, while Nakaayi Halima the women's 800m comfortably.
The men's 400m event drew applause from the huge crowd that thronged to the stadium to grace the races, while the 4×400m mixed relay had spectators on their feet.
Tuesday night presents an opportunity for more races and medals to be won and final places to be secured.
There's the 4×100m relay to come, an event Ghana currently holds gold in this competition.
