The African Explosives Limited, an explosive supplying company in Bogoso Prestea donated furniture, table tennis and its accessories worth 50 million cedis to the Goldfields school complex.
The two hundred mono desks, of which fifty were sent to the school library complex were presented to the school authorities.
Madam Fafa Adinyira, the human resource manager of the African Explosives Limited, making the donation said the school had been the beacon of learning and teaching in the area and that the support was necessary and came in time to ensure that high standards were maintained.
The headmaster and manager of the school system, Mr. Michael Appiagyei said he was happy that the appeals made by the schools to organisations and individuals had started yielding positive results.
Mr Appiagyei urged mining companies operating in the area and old students to give the schools the needed support for excellence in education.
The government’s Capitation Grant extended to the school, he said, had helped a great deal in enrolment and expressed gratitude to parents who had contributed to the proper maintenance of existing facilities.
Mr Appiagyei appealed to the government to provide the schools with a bus to facilitate easy movement for both students and staff.
