An education think tank, African Education Watch, has petitioned the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to investigate the incident of a priest kissing some students at the St Monica's College of Education.
In an amateur video, the priest, Father Balthazar Obeng Larbi, is seen forcibly kissing three female students of the college during a religious ritual while a congregation cheered on.

The third female student who initially showed resistance eventually gave in.
The conduct of the priest has attracted massive backlash from the public.
In a statement condemning the act, the African Education Watch called for sanctions against the priest because "the alleged act is in blatant disregard for established Covid-19 protocols which the perpetrator is responsible for rather ensuring adherence as a leader in the school.
"We are by this letter petitioning your office to conduct an external investigation into the conduct of father Balthazar Obeng Larbi and sanction appropriately while pronouncing on whether or not the practice of kissing students in public is acceptable conduct in a tertiary institution," the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Anglican Church has already disclosed that an investigation has begun into the matter.
Executive Director to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana, Dr George Dawson-Ahmoah, has assured that the said priest if found culpable, will be dealt with as stipulated in the norms and values of the Anglican Communion.
