Ghana’s Black Stars could have their fate in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers sealed before they take on Angola in their penultimate qualifying match on Friday.
Ghana go into the final round of matches needing to win both games, while hoping Sudan lose their final two games.
With Sudan taking on Niger 24 hours before Ghana faces Angola, the Black Stars could already be eliminated from the qualifying series before Friday’s kickoff.
Despite the reality, Black Stars defender, Gideon Mensah says they are motivated to get the needed result.
“Our motivation comes from playing for Ghana.
“We have millions of people here in Ghana who support us every game we play.
“We are here for the two games and we are mentally prepared for them.
“There’s nothing else to think about except the games in front of us, he said.
Failure to book a place at the competition in Morroco will be the first time in 20 years Ghana have failed to qualify for the AFCON.
