Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger, scheduled for early next month.
The senior men’s national team last convened in June, where they secured consecutive victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The players are expected to arrive by Monday, September 2, 2024, to commence preparations for the AFCON qualifiers, which will take place on September 5 in Kumasi and September 9 in Berkane.
Coach Otto Addo’s selection includes the core of the squad, with no major surprises. Key players such as Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have all been retained.
Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru make their return to the squad after missing the previous matches, while Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko remains the only home-based player included in the team.
Captain Andre Ayew and Daniel Amartey have been omitted.

The Black Stars will kick off their 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign against Angola on Thursday, 5th September, at the Baba Yara Stadium, followed by a match against Niger four days later in Berkane.
