Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, says the door is not completely shut for Andre Ayew despite being absent for the last two Black Stars call-ups.
Addo named his squad for Ghana's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger with Andre missing out.
According to the gaffer, the former Le Havre man could still be part of the team if he plays at a high-level week in and week out.
The Black Stars captain has been without a club since his contract with Le Havre expired and was not renewed at the end of the season.
Addo was quizzed on the absence of Ayew for the second consecutive time.
"Andre Ayew is a good player, but at the moment, he is not here. He doesn't have a club, but nobody knows the future," said the coach.
"If he gets a club and performs and scores 20 goals, maybe he can return because we are building something for the future."
Ghana will face Angola on September 5 before travelling to Morocco to play Niger four days later.
