Nigeria suffered defeat to Guinea in their pre-Africa Cup of Nations friendly on Monday with just days left until the start of the competition.
The Super Eagles lost 2-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Jose Peseiro's men conceded goals in both halves and failed to find their rhythm throughout the match.
Guinea scored first in the 14th minute, frustrating Nigeria's enthusiasm, and then Moses Simon squandered an opportunity to draw them level from the penalty spot. His attempt was saved by the Guinean goalkeeper.
The second half brought little improvement for the Super Eagles, who conceded a second goal in the 64th minute.
Nigeria failed to make good use of the opportunities they created in the second period of the game with Samuel Chukwueze and Chidozie Awaziem all coming close.
The Super Eagles are housed in Group A, alongside host nations Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria face Equatorial Guinea in their opening on January 14 before clashing with the Elephants four days later and wrapping up their group campaign against Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
