Bafana Bafana head coach Ephraim "Shakes" Mashaba has announced his starting XI that will face the number one ranked team in Africa, Algeria, in their opening match of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tonight.

The match will be played at Stade de Mongomo at 19:00pm GMT.

Mashaba has also announced Dean Furman as the skipper of the day. This is the fourth time Furman will captain South Africa.

Belgium-based goalkeeper Darren Keet is back in goals after starting on the bench on the pre-tournament friendlies against Cameroon and Mali.

Anele Ngcongca, who played in the heart of defence against Mali, returns to right-back and makes way for Rivaldo Coetzee, who was rested for that match due to a knock on the knee. Siyabonga Nhlapho, who started at right-back against Mali, is on the bench.

There is only one change in the midfield, with Mandla Masango making way for Oupa "Ace" Manyisa, who will play alongside Furman, Andile Jali and Thuso Phala.

Tokelo Rantie, who missed the Mali clash because of a hamstring strain, is back in the striking force in place of Bongani "Drogba" Ndulula, while Sibusiso Vilakazi, scorer of the second goal in the Mali encounter, retains his place.

Both Eric "Tower" Mathoho and Reneilwe "Yeye" Letsholonyane are suspended for this important opening match.
