Big, bouncy, beautiful hair is an accessory that every female, no matter what age desires. Unfortunately, some of us weren't born with the luscious locks that have natural body and volume. For those that were born with a baby fine or limp mane don't fret, there are plenty of products and tested techniques that will help your hair attain the body you want.

Get a good haircut. If your hair is fine or flat, ask your stylist for a shorter haircut that is layered. This will add natural bounce to your hair instantly.
Use body inducing shampoo and conditioning products. Because shampooing and conditioning are the first steps in the hair styling process, it is important that you use products that will facilitate your goal. Avoid products that claim to add moisture, they often leave a heavy residue on your hair, weighing it down. Instead, use a lightweight cleansing shampoo and conditioner that rids your hair of excess oil and build-up. There are also a variety of volumizing shampoos and conditioners on the market; try purchasing sample sizes to determine which ones work best for you.
Apply the proper product(s) to your hair before styling. Try products that claim to texturize, thicken or add volume to your hair. It may take some time to figure out what product works best for you, but when you do find that perfect product, apply it to your roots before styling for optimal body.
Utilize the proper styling tools. The thickness and texture of your hair will determine the tools you will need to attain body. Most people should begin by blow-drying their hair with a round or large paddle brush. First, section off your hair to focus on one area at a time. Using whatever brush you prefer, blow dry your hair while using your brush to pull it towards the ceiling. If you have naturally tamed hair, you can section it off with rollers and then blow dry. Once your hair is dry, determine if it needs additional styling. Big barreled curling irons are also a great way to smooth hair will adding body.
