The acting Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Ing. Dr Robert Kofi Lartey has promised to use the facility to help drive government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme, through agro-processing, transportation, construction and manufacturing services.
Dr Lartey revealed this when he held a maiden management meeting, following his appointment by President John Mahama as CEO of the company.

Ing. Dr Lartey has a distinguished professional career with over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector.
Until his appointment, Dr Lartey was the General Manager for Operations at Ghana Gas Company, where he played a pivotal role in the company's success, ensuring the reliable supply of economic fuel to Ghana's power sector.
He also served as the Director of Operations at Ghana Gas, as well as Senior Manager, Engineering and Operations at the company.
Plans for Ghana Gas and Focusing on core areas
Speaking at the management meeting, Dr Lartey underscored the need to operate and transport gas to customers in a safe and reliable manner in line with the vision of Ghana Gas.

He emphasized the need to provide a constant gas supply to companies such as cocoa processing firms (agriculture) and gas to power railways (transportation) for the 24-hour economy drive.
“Completion of projects such as the LPG Bottling Plant to provide jobs for Ghanaians also in line with the 24-hour economy”, he said.
President John Mahana during his campaign for the 2024 elections, said the 24-hour economy policy will form the basis for re-setting the economy.
Dr Lartey said the company has an important role to play in helping the President realize the vision.
He's also targeting improvement in professionalism among all Ghana Gas staff to ensure productivity and efficiency in the technical areas.
Dr Lartey promised to improve on existing engagements and support the company towards its project-affected communities.
