The September Medal Open Championship of the Achimota Golf Club tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday. September 20.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club who announced this in Accra on Sunday said about 100 golfers are expected to participate in the competition.
He said even though the event is a Club affair, invitation has been extended to other sister clubs in the Greater Accra Region to participate and make it more competitive.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the one-day18-Hole Stable-ford event, which would be sponsored by B.C.M. Ghana Limited, has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements for the Men and the Ladies respectively.
The General Manager added that the competition would be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association, Royal Golf Club of Scotland and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club.
Prizes would be awarded to ‘Nearest to the Pin on Hole 18’ and ‘Closest to the Pin on Hole 17’.
The next major competition on the calendar of the Achimota Golf Club is the ‘Accra Open’ which is scheduled for October 25.
