Members of Accra East Rotary Club, on Friday presented furniture, books and stationery worth GH¢40,000 to Ga South Municipal Assembly Primary School at Anyaa, a suburb of Accra.
Nii Afutu Nequaye, President of the Club, said the presentation was in line with their social responsibility to needy communities.
He called on parents to make education a priority and the most valuable legacy for their children.
"I will challenge parents to show much concern about the education and social wellbeing of their children especially girls," he said.
Reverend Mrs. Naana Dannyame, Assistant Director for Supervision, Ghana Education Service (GES) of Ga South Municipal, receiving the items, urged parents to provide their children the necessary education to make them good citizens for their communities and the nation in future.
He thanked the members for the gesture and called on corporate bodies and philanthropists to assist improve education in the country.
