The GSE-All Share Index, the main measure of the Accra Bourse, jumped a whopping 71.84 points on the back of price gains in three equities.
The index rallied to close at 10,591.45 up from 10,519.61 points.
The change year to date now stands at 60.48 per cent.
Shares that changed hands ended the session at 981,600 shares, three times higher than Wednesday’s close of 238,900 shares. Ecobank Ghana alone sold 826,100 shares.
On the broader market there were three positive price gains. Ecobank Ghana went up by GH¢0.22 at GH¢4.61; Unilever gained GH¢0.03 at GH¢3.00 and Fan Milk Limited was up at GH¢0.39 to close at GH¢4.30.
Market capitalisation ended the session up at GH¢17,821.01 million from GH¢17,775.95 million.
