The 2024 Accra Bar Show, held from August 9th to 10th at the Zinnia Event Centre, was nothing short of a landmark event in Ghana’s hospitality sector.

Organised by Bordorvic Concepts, led by Divine Kwame Doh, and the General Manager of Front/Back, Kojo Aidoo, the event brought together a dynamic mix of industry professionals, brands, and enthusiasts from both local and diaspora communities.

The event spanned two days with free sampling and tasting sessions that immediately captured the excitement of attendees. All guests were invited to explore a diverse range of premium drinks from industry giants like Remy Martin, Aphro Spirits, Johnnie Walker, Patron, Bumbu and The Republic Bar.

These major brands not only offered free samples but also engaged with guests, educating them about their products and the craftsmanship behind each bottle. The energy was palpable as visitors moved from one brand station to another, soaking in the expertise and passion on display.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, guest bartenders from the renowned Talking To Strangers bar and more bars around the world and in Ghana, showcased their skills with exciting special guest shifts at key venues including Eniigma, Front/Back, La Borracha, Aria, and Sol. These shifts highlighted the artistry and creativity that are rapidly becoming the hallmark of Ghana's bartending scene.

The program for the Accra Bar Show was meticulously curated, offering a blend of educational seminars, engaging discussions, and hands-on masterclasses that resonated with everyone in attendance. Notable sessions included:

Customer Service Leadership: A Key to Hospitality Excellence: Led by Caleb Kofie, this session emphasized the importance of customer service in shaping the overall experience within the hospitality industry.

From Backyard to Bar: The Journey of African Spirits: This seminar offered an in-depth exploration of African spirits, featuring brands like Reign Rum, Aphro, and Sahara Solace. Transforming Hospitality with Augmented Reality by Limear:  This forward-looking presentation demonstrated how augmented reality is poised to revolutionize guest experiences in the hospitality industry, providing a glimpse into the future of interactive and immersive dining and drinking environments.

Creating the Award-Winning Bar & Bartender: A discussion featuring Kojo Aidoo, Chris Beaney, and Leah Van Deventer, focusing on the elements that make a bar or bartender truly exceptional, from innovative cocktails to exceptional service.

The Art of Collaboration: A panel discussion featuring industry leaders like Jiji, Dramani, Felix Amarty, Eben Tetteh, and Ryan Bediako. The conversation highlighted the critical role of collaboration in driving innovation and growth within Ghana's hospitality sector.

Kojo Aidoo's Vision for the Future
