Accra Academy SHS has secured a slot for the one-fourth stage in the first contest for Day 2s one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) held at the Amegashie Auditorium in the University of Ghana.
Accra Academy SHS, also known as "Bleoo boys" eliminated Assin State College and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Contestants who led Accra Academy SHS to a definite victory were Richmond Tsibu Darko and Marcellinus Agbenegah Awuye.
Assin State College and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS were also represented by Johnson Nemaku, Nelson Kwame Hiamey and Priscilla Akuba Younge, Dorothy Anim Bioh respectively.
Accra Academy led the score table with 15 points in the first round. With 14 points, Assin State College followed close-by on the scoreboard. Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS was unfortunately at the bottom of the score table with 12 points.
Moving on to the "speed race" in the second round, Accra Academy increased the margin among schools with 23 points. Assin State College scored two points in this round, leaving them with 19 points.
Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS lost three points from the previous score and ended up with 9 points.

In the third round of the contest, all schools scored 10 points thereby winning the Prudential Life Star NSMQ.
Stating their dominance in this round, Accra Academy still led the score table with 33 points. Assin State College and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS secured 26 and 19 points respectively.
Still in the lead, Accra Academy secured 48 points in the fourth round. With 37 and 32 points, Assin State College and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS followed on the score table.
Even though with no point earned in the fifth round, Accra Academy SHS won the contest with 48 points. Assin State College gave a fight in the last round and scored 43 points.
Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS could not stand tall as the contest got intense but secured 35 points.
