President of Academic City University College, Prof. Fred McBagonluri, has been honoured as a 'Unique Star Mentor Achiever' at the inaugural Youth OD Conference and Great Achievers of Our Time Awards.
This recognition highlights Prof. McBagonluri’s outstanding contributions to youth mentorship and development, celebrating his commitment to fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
Under Prof. McBagonluri’s leadership, Academic City University College has become a beacon of educational innovation, with a relentless focus on nurturing students and equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
His efforts in mentoring young people and guiding them towards excellence have set a high standard within the academic and broader community.
The event, organised in partnership with the Overlord of the Waala State and Y-PES Ghana, was held to commemorate International Youth Day.
The conference was on the theme "Organisational Development: Building Resilience for Youth Development,".
Speaking at the event on the topic “Leveraging Technology and Digital Solutions for Youth Development," Prof. McBagonluri emphasised the transformative power of technology in today’s rapidly changing digital landscape.
“In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, technology is not just an enabler but a critical driver of change. It is essential in transforming our educational systems, bridging gaps in access to resources, and creating new opportunities for the youth across Africa,” he said.
Prof. McBagonluri further indicated the importance of equipping young people with the technological skills and knowledge needed to overcome traditional barriers, actively participate in the global economy, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development within their communities.
“Technology has already begun to revolutionise sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture, offering practical solutions to longstanding challenges.
"We must invest in digital infrastructure, innovation, and training programmes as a country to prepare the next generation of leaders to navigate and shape the future," he added.
