The Manhyia Palace has announced that it has received a formal complaint from the Abudu Royal family of the Dagbon Traditional Area about the slow pace of implementation of the road map to peace in that area.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II heads a committee of three eminent chiefs responsible for bringing peace to Dagbon area.
The Abudu Royal family, one of the factions in the chieftaincy dispute said it is unhappy with the seemingly stalled peace process in the area. It expressed the fear that the delay could derail gains already made in bringing lasting peace to Dagbon.
But the group has now taken its complaints to Otumfuo, who is the chairman of the three-member committee of eminent chiefs, which is charged with the responsibility of bringing peace to Dagbon.
Highly placed sources within the Northern Regional Security Council have also raised questions about the work of the eminent chiefs. Joy News sources suggest that the Security Council's hands are tied because there's no clear direction or decision from the eminent chiefs.
The Personal Secretary to the Asantehene, Mr Owusu Boateng said Manhyia is studying the complaint and will respond at the appropriate time.
