More than 150 crime suspects including seven women have been arrested by the Greater Accra Police in Sunday early morning swoop in capital.
The suspects were picked at various locations including the Neoplan Station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Abbosey Okai, Odawna, Keneshie, and Adabraka.
The joint Military-Police operation was led by the Director-General of Police Operations, DCOP Patrick Timbila.
Seventeen of the suspects had Indian hemp on them while one had an AK 47 rifle.
The police also seized a large quantity of Indian hemp which was also found abandoned by suspects at Alajo.
Following the arrests the, Director of Police Public Affairs, DSP Kwesi Ofori told Joy News the operation will be sustained until
criminal activities in the nation’s capital were reduced.
He said a lot of measures were put in place in the various communities to ensure that miscreants were arrested and dealt with according to the law.
According to DSP Kwesi Ofori the suspects will be screened and the criminals amongst prosecuted.
