The Police have opened investigations into circumstances surrounding the death of a daughter of the Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Bekwai, Kwaku Kyei Baffuor at Atwima Bebu in the Ashanti region.
Akua Serwaa Kyei, 31, a nursing trainee awaiting posting was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital after being found in an unconscious state by the husband at around 5:30 pm on Thursday.
Though information on the incident is scanty, police say the husband of the deceased returned home on 3rd August 2023, and found the victim lying unconscious at the back of their house.
The husband further alleged that their living room and bedroom were ransacked and a television set stolen.
But an initial assessment of the scene by the Police Crime Scene team revealed no doors or windows in the house had been broken into.
According to police, no marks of violence or gunshot wound was found upon an inspection of the deceased's body at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy as investigation continues.
The Police have visited the family of the deceased and are working with them to get to the bottom of the matter and bring perpetrators to face justice whilst a clinical psychologists has also been assigned to the family.
