Tema Circuit Court 'A' on Monday remanded Osumanu Musah, a 45-year-old unemployed who attempted transporting nine parcels of Indian hemp to Accra from Nkonya in the Volta Region into prison custody.
Musah whose plea was not taken was charged with possessing narcotic drug without authority and would re-appear on December 4.
Police Inspector Adolphus Otchere, prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that police personnel on duty at the Ashaiman police barrier on November 10, this year during routine checks on a Mercedes Benz bus travelling from Nkonya to Accra arrested the accused with the drugs.
He said the accused had five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in a black polythene bag and an additional four parcels striped with an adhesive tape to his body.
The prosecution said after investigations the accused was charged with the offence.
