The Mo Traditional Authorities say they and their subjects are prepared to vote for the Akufo-Addo government as a sign of gratitude for the live-changing initiatives introduced in their area.

Presenting a smock to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at a durbar at Kintampo on Thursday, the Krontihene, Nana Agyei Adinkra II said although they have voted for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992, they have witnessed developmental projects in the area under the NPP government.

“On behalf of the Chiefs of Mo Traditional area, I present to you this smock, which will always remind you of this visit to Kintampo.

“Not just that, we want to seal it with a promise right in front of you that as for this year, we want to switch to NPP so that we can also benefit more from the wind of development blowing in the country and be bigger than the way you see us. We thank you very much,” he said.

He then charged the Akufo-Addo government to continue to fulfil its promises if they retain their mandate in the December 7 elections.

“We assure you with prayers that we will change the way we vote,” he stressed.

Earlier, the Wangara Chief of Kintampo Nana Fanyinama III, commended the Akufo-Addo government for the developmental projects it is undertaking in the area, and also requested for more.

The two Kintampo constituencies; North and South, have consistently voted for the NDC but speakers at the programme, including traditional authorities were of the view that there haven't experienced a corresponding outflow in developmental projects in the area.

On his part, Dr Bawumia told chiefs and people of the area that despite having voted for the NDC in the 2016 elections, the Akufo-Addo administration believes in all-inclusive development of the nation, hence the implementation of these projects in the Mo Traditional Area.

Dr Bawumia also expressed gratitude to traditional rulers for their appreciation of the good works of President Akufo-Addo and their decision to vote for him and the NPP Parliamentary candidates of the area.

He then assured them that Kintampo and the people of Ghana will continue to benefit from more development under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, and as such should rally behind him and vote for NPP in December.
