Some workers of the Thibiano Mining Company and African Underground Services Limited in the Western Region are claiming their employers are insisting they work on voting day.
December 7 has been declared a statutory public holiday to allow registered voters to cast their ballots.
But the workers, mainly miners and contractors told Joy News they risk losing their jobs if they flout the directive.
"On the 7th of December every worker is supposed to work for eight hours; around 6:00 and 7:00 to about 2:00 before they go home and vote,” one of the workers said.
He added many of the workers are bent on flouting the directive to exercise their franchise.
The Human Resource manager of Kinross, the umbrella company of the two subsidiaries, Thomas Nyarko Danquah told Joy News a memo has been sent to all managers to ensure workers are allowed to vote though that must not affect productivity.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive officer of the Ghana chamber of Mines, Toni Aubynn has assured mine workers the concerns will be addressed before Friday.
He said all miners will be given the opportunity to vote on Election Day.
