The National Youth Authority has said it is delighted over headline-grabbing feat by Ghanaian box Isaac Dogboe after defending his international boxing title.
NYA CEO Emmanuel Asigri said the 23-year old boxer is an encouragement to young Ghanaians that international recognition in any professional field is attainable.
Isaac Dogboe continues to win positive attention for Ghana after he successfully defended his WBO super bantamweight title against a Japanese opponent last Saturday.
He knocked out Japanese veteran Hidenori Otake in the first round to add him to the fate of his last five opponents.
The National Youth Authority has been a fan of Ghana's youngest boxing champion after he clinched the WBO Super Bantamweight title in April 2018.
The NYA said while Ghanaians mourn the passing of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, news of another international feat albeit in a different professional field is heart-warming.
The NYA also pointed to another world-conquering feat with three Ghanaians emerging top in the globally administered Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.
The CEO said Isaac Dogboe conquering exploits is a true reflection of the meaning of the patriotic song 'arise Ghana youth for your country'.
The National Youth Authority signalled it plans to meet Dogboe and his team and personally convey their congratulation to the young star.
