The PEG Learning Centre is aimed at providing a conducive atmosphere for children within the area to study at night and do their assignments in order to boost their academic performance.

With regard to the medical facility which was also fitted with a solar powered lighting system, it is expected to improve healthcare delivery at night which previously had consultations and delicate procedures including administering injections being done with torch lights.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the projects to the community, Ghana Country Director for PEG, Efuwa Quansah indicated that ever since PEG started operations about five years ago, they have been dedicated to serving several hundred off-grid communities in Ghana with affordable and clean solar energy with very flexible payment terms making it accessible to all.
“Besides this, we have introduced other social interventions including the free PEG Hospital Insurance for all our customers and now PEG Boafo to support education and healthcare delivery in the communities. I will urge authorities to open up these facilities to all, to enable the children to study and the entire community to access better healthcare delivery at all times,” she added.
The chief of Amotare Nana Ogyam, who could not hide his joy was full of praise for PEG Africa for the projects.
“We are very grateful to PEG for this kind gesture, this clearly demonstrates that they are interested in not only doing business with us but our welfare also,” he stated.
The Fanteakwa District Education Director, Jacob Felli, who was also elated over the initiative said, the PEG Learning Centre will motivate the students to strive for success in their academic endeavours.
“Your humble background should not limit your ambitions in life. I know that a president of Ghana can come from Amotare and this initiative undertaken by PEG to support your education will increase the likelihood of this happening,” Mr. Felli added.
