Impressed President Akufo-Addo has promised to give a 19-year old Senior High School graduate ¢25,000 after she pitched her agro-business idea.

Vanessa Limann received loud applause after she presented a plan to process grains into cereals to compete with dominant foreign brands on the market.

She was one of 10 entrepreneurs selected by the Business Development ministry to showcase their ideas to the President for funding as part of government's vision to encourage start-ups.

Dubbed the President Pitch, the 10 young entrepreneurs who were shortlisted could receive capital ranging from ¢10,000 and ¢50,000 to start the business under the ministry's supervision.

All 10 showed up at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra where a panel of judges listened to them make a case for funding.

While congratulating the participants for their initiative, President Akufo-Addo singled out Vanessa Limman for special praise.

The teenager who hails from the West Sissala district in the Upper West region said her sole-proprietorship company 'Valilim Enterprise' wants to outdoor 'Neslag' breakfast for children, young adults and the aged.

She said her company needed ¢43,700 to buy machines which will be used for roasting the grains, grinding and packaging her two products, Neslag Instant Cereal and Nestlag Wheat Crunch.

She eventually qualified for ¢50,000. But much to the surprise of the audience, the president announced his personal package for Vanessa Limman, leaving the audience screening at the gesture.

The President said his ¢25,000 is almost all of his take-home salary of ¢29,000.
