The Accra Venue Organising Committee of the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations will pay a courtesy call on the Eastern Regional Minister, Kwadwo Afram Asiedu and the Chiefs and people on Friday, October 5 as they embark on a working tour to the Region.
A statement signed by Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) said the visit is in line with the objective of ensuring that Ghanaians living everywhere in the country get the opportunity to identify themselves with the 26th edition of the continent's showpiece soccer event.
The statement added that the team would also confer with the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs as well as the District Chief Executives.
Professor Kwesi Yankah, Chairman of AVOC will lead the team which has decided to identify with the tournament through tours to regional, district and towns outside the main venue of Accra.
The main venues of the Ghana 2008 are the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium - Accra, Baba Yara Stadium - Kumasi, Essipong Stadium and Tamale Stadium.
The competition begins on January 20 and would end on February 10, 2008.
