The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, has suspended Mr. Cosmos Dikoh Hansen, assemblyman for Bonkwaso Number One, from attending the next two sittings of the Assembly for offensive conduct.
The Assembly, which took the decision at its third ordinary meeting at Mankranso on Wednesday, indicated that Mr. Hansen has breached the Local Government Act 462 Section 110.
Mr. Nicholas Opoku-Afriyie, Presiding Member of the Assembly, said the assemblyman seized a microphone belonging to the Muslim community in the town when some Muslim youth were making an announcement with the communication equipment.
Mr. Opoku-Afriyie said Mr. Hansen refused to attend a meeting for the settlement of the issue.
He said the Assembly has rescheduled a meeting with the Muslim community in the town to discuss the matter.
