The Ga-South Municipal Assembly, one of the newly created municipalities in the Greater Accra Region, has set out new programmes and policies to attract investors.
The policies include access to building permit within 48 working hours for residential buildings and one month for commercial and industrial buildings.
The Assembly has also introduced what it described as an “amnesty permit” which will allow all those who do not have a permit to do so.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive for the municipality Joseph Nyarni during the Assembly’s ordinary session meeting.
According to him, the Assembly has also acquired enough land for the establishment of factories and industries.
He, therefore, called on investors to take advantage of the problem free land to invest in the municipality.
Mr Nyarni also disclosed that the Tomefa community located in the municipality will benefit from government’s 1D-1F initiative to be driven by Everpure Ghana Limited.
The company is expected to produce bottled and bagged water using the Densu Lake, thereby opening the municipality up for business and creating jobs.
In the same meeting, the MCE, also highlighted some of the Assembly’s achievement so far as well as gave updates on continuing projects.
He said under his leadership, they have been able to complete a six-unit unit classroom block at Kokrobite, renovated a six-unit classroom block in Domiabra as well as completed a CHIPS compound in Tomefa.
The Ga-South Municipal Assembly has also been able to provide over 2000 duel and mono decks to schools, provided 960 streetlights and supplied over 30 hospitals beds with mattresses.
Mr Nyarni also sought the approval from the Assembly to commence work on a three-unit classroom block in Tebu and six-unit classroom block in Amanfro.
The Assembly will also be constructing additional wards at the Amanfrom Clinic which is to be upgraded to a hospital status soon.
