Mr Dan Botwe, a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he walks alone and he is not in alliance with any of the other aspirants in his quest to be the New Patriotic Party flagbearer.
He said that the Party will not regret electing him as its presidential candidate to contest next year's general elections.
He said the Party needed somebody who is a father, humble, dedicated, trustworthy and fearless and who could speak for the generality of Ghanaians, "and I stand tall among all the candidates in that regard".
Mr. Botwe said this at a press briefing at Ho on Friday as part of a two-day campaign tour of the Volta region.
He said if elected as the flagbearer, he would work tirelessly so that the current government hands over power to another NPP government and that he would vigorously pursue the Party's manifesto.
Mr Botwe said people offering to serve the nation need not offer gifts and cash to people to win their confidence and advised the Party's faithful to be wary of power seekers who approach them with gifts.
He said he was not deterred by the number of aspirants seeking the presidential slot of the NPP, saying he had served the Party in many capacities, "even at the time when it was very difficult to be identified as a member of the NPP".
"I have worked with Party faithful even at the grassroots and members know my track record and are willing to elect me as the Party's presidential candidate," he held.
In an answer to a question, Mr. Botwe said people were entitled to their views as to which aspirants were leading in the race, but the best opinion poll would be delivered at the Party's delegates' congress.
He denied reports that he was collaborating with aspirants from the Eastern region to achieve a common goal.
"I walk alone and hope to achieve my ambition", he added.
