Unilever Ghana Limited through its Rexona deodorant and anti-perspirant brand has launched the ‘’Be The Next Champion’’ campaign as part of its partnership with English giants Chelsea FC.
The campaign is a skills competition aimed at choosing a Ghanaian representative to be part of African 11 team to play against Chelsea legends.
The lucky aspiring footballer will spend a day training with Chelsea coaches at the team’s training ground in Cobham. The fans are not left out. One lucky fan will win a Chelsea dream to watch the Blues train and meet at the Cobham Training Centre.
According to the Managing Director of Unilever Ghana Limited, Mr Yeo Ziobeieton his outfit considers this campaign as an opportunity to provide a platform to showcase to the world the true spirit of Ghanaian football and keep this spirit alive especially so, considering the fact that Ghana did not qualify for World Cup this year.
The official coach for the campaign, Laryea Kingston said Ghana holds many players with a huge passion for football and this competition gives them the chance to demonstrate their passion and ability.
Former Ghana midfielder and Chelsea legend Micheal Essien is the Brand Ambassador for the campaign.
‘’I am happy to be part of this Rexona and Chelsea partnership, I am very happy to be the Ambassador to promote it,’’ he said.
‘’Chelsea is the biggest club in Europe at the moment and to be part of it is such an honour, I’m glad to be part of the generation that put Chelsea where it is today so it’s a blessing,’’ He added.
The competition will begin in May and end on 21st July 2018. Apart from the two ultimate prizes, there are many exciting prizes up for grabs; autographed memorabilia as well as Rexona hampers, jerseys, headphones, water bottles and soccer balls.
