Egypt's ex-President Hosni Mubarak is still in serious health condition on Thursday as he was placed on the ventilator several times Wednesday night in the hospital of Torah prison, official news agency MENA reported.
"Mubarak was placed on the artificial ventilator all night, after he was exposed to shortness of breath with a high blood pressure resulted from atrial pulse in the heart," MENA quoted an official source as saying.
The source added that Mubarak is still suffering from severe depression, so he spoke little only with his son Gamal. He may be transferred to a military hospital, which depends on a medical report to be written by the medical team treating him.
Mubarak, 84, is suffering health problem which has been accumulating since he was admitted to the prison on Saturday after the court announced his life imprisonment.
The Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday sentenced Mubarak and former Interior Minister Habib Adli to life in jail over the charges of complicity in killing protesters.
