Kofi Basoa, a 40-year-old mason has been remanded in prison custody for attempted murder at Kumawu in the Sekyere East District by the Kumawu Circuit Court.
His plea was not taken and would re-appear on September 27, this year.
The police told newsmen at Kumawu after the court’s sitting on September 10, 2007 that at about 1700 hours, the accused took advantage of the absence of Yaa Afi, his wife and intentionally poured a poisonous substance into a soup she had prepared with the aim of killing whoever would taste it.
According to the police, luck run out on Basoa who was seen by one Grace Nyamekye, who alerted Yaa Afi, the complainant on her return about the act.
She reported the matter to the Kumawu Police who arrested and charged him with the offence.
The police are still investigating the case.
