A fifty-three-year-old farmer, Isaac K. Badu, has been arrested by the police for allegedly ordering his two sons to beat their cousin to death at Susumanteng in the Sefwi-Wiawso District in the Western Region.
Badu and one of his sons, Enoch Badu, 31, a carpenter, have been remanded in police custody, while the third suspect, Joseph Barnie, is at large.
The body of the deceased, identified as Jonathan Badu, 32, has been deposited at the Sefwi-Wiawso Government Hospital for autopsy.
According to the police in Sefwi-Wiawso, the incident occurred when Jonathan allegedly requested his uncle to give him his share of the money which had been given by a relative to his uncle to build a house but which Jonathan claimed his uncle had misappropriated.
Badu was angered by the demand by his nephew and, therefore, ordered his children to beat their cousin.
Unfortunately, Jonathan sustained internal injury from the severe beating and was rushed to the Sefwi-Wiawso Government Hospital but he died later.
When contacted, the Sefwi-Wiawso District Police Commander, DSP Raymond Kofi Erzuah, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
