The MP for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Hon. P. C. Ofori-Appiah who has been accused of bigamy, has denied the allegations, but admits to aborting a pregnancy for his wife, Rebecca.
He says he aborted the pregnancy for her because he did not make her pregnant.
The MP, whose wife accused him of the crime of bigamy in a story carried by the Daily Graphic of Saturday September 15, 2007, says that the woman, whom he refers to as his former wife, even though has been living with him in the same house for the past 11 years ceases to be his wife, because she has consistently been unfaithful to him.
He accused the woman of infecting him with a sexually transmitted disease.
The MP disagrees with the former wife on the issue of a second marriage, because according to him, he has not married the second woman. He says, she is only living with him and cooking for him.
