The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) on Wednesday appealed to its members to ensure peaceful preparations for the third National Congress to elect National Officers and a Presidential Candidate for the 2008 elections.
A statement issued in Accra by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Party said the Council would hold a meeting in Accra on Tuesday, September 18, to discuss schedules for the congress, including dates for filing nominations by the various positions to be contested for and vetting of presidential aspirants.
The statement, signed by the General Secretary, Nii Noi Dowuona said the meeting would bring together members of the Central Committee, Members of Parliament, Regional Steering Committees and Representatives of the Council of Elders.
Others include Women's League, Youth League and National Officers of the Party, Overseas Branches as well as Tertiary Institutions.
